Let's here it for the boys.....

When this fabric came into the shop, I knew I had to make it into a shirt for a guy. I used to make things like this for my boys all the time. They loved it, just ask them! (Not matching though, that would be weird) I borrowed a pattern from Jennifer for this one. There is a little guy out there that I had in mind while making it.....

I really love this line!! Not every peice is as bold as this. The bird fabric from yesterday's dress is from the same line. I just love these chameleons though, they make me smile!

This is really cute! ( Right mom?)

I made this last night. I couldn't blog it, my internet was down this morning. I was disappointed because it's really sweet and I wanted you all to see it. The pattern is from Oliver + S which I found it easy to follow. They gave good tips on areas that could be tricky. A beginning sewer should be able to make this with not much difficulty. I'll leave it hanging in the shop for awhile next to Jennifer's pretty dress......

My husband wants his pants hemmed but I made a hat instead

There were other titles to this post, like:
If I'm late for work, will you for give me, because I made this hat....
or
If I forget to bathe but made this hat, will ya'll still love me??
or
Dog toilet trains himself because owner would rather crochet another hat instead of taking him outside, which is really not fair.....
k, that one was a bit long. The flower is not done yet but I have to walk the dog, bathe and get to work. Don't worry babe, I'll hem the pants tonight........

It was for Ava.....

You shouldn't crochet when you are tense.
My dear Ava, you will get one the right size, I promise. At least you can tell me if you like the color.....

It's been a hard week, for others....

I am unable to be with them physically but I can pray, sometimes it's all you can do.

My sister, well, to make a long story short and not invade her privacy too much..... If you are ever in Salem OR and need a dentist, ask me where not to go. Unless you like loosing teeth. I'm just saying.

My son, he is fine, but there are those who are not. Thus far his unit was fairly fortunate, no major stuff gone wrong. This week two people and their families lives are forever changed. My son is ok and I am overjoyed, someone else's son is not and my heart breaks for them.

It's hat time again.....

Because I don't have enough to do. This one is for Elena, don't tell her, it will be a surprise that I finally did it. I made one for Collin first, he whines the loudest. I owe my Miss Ava Larue a couple more. I love her face, her big brown eyes.... go here to see her for yourself. Her whole family is just too cute!

Yes Jess, I will make you flowers.

Yes Adrienne, I will show you how to make flowers.

Mary, my coffee cup is empty in the background. I love your coffee.

I think this picture is funny. I was trying to take it myself, with short arms it's not easy. Didn't realize poor Brink was there. He personally is over the hats and just wants to walk.

You asked for it....Oh, wait, you didn't.

See, my table isn't so bad. Something you may not know about me, I like buttons and ribbon. My daughter and son-in-law made ribbon boxes for me to contain them. That is love, because I am not sure my love of ribbon is something they understand. Just ask you know who, he's positive I am nuts.Yum, just yum.
This is the gold section..........

What not to do and what got done......

Do not, under any circumstances drink several double esspresso lattes in one day. Have I introduced you to my magical coffee machine? She is lovely. I won't take my own advice. I will do it again and suffer.......I managed to finish this dress. It was inspired by a pattern we have at the shop. I made mine reversible.
I also finished a bag made from some Japanese fabric I brought home from quilt market. I need to remember to send Jessica a piece..... Yes, this is just one bag.
Small zip bag. I have made a couple of these after Jessica sent me one. Hers is prettier. You can see it here.

I also cleaned up my "crafting" area. I wasn't quite finished so this is all you get. The area is a wall in a room where a lot of other stuff goes on too. I know, I know, it still looks pretty messy but isn't that the nature of what we do????I also talked to my mom for two hours. There was a moment of hysteria because I am an idiot. I am sure having the shakes from coffee made it worse/funnier. Wow I am an idiot twice.....

Jessica's first post!

Here is the event some of you have been waiting for......... Jess has a blog!

As for me, I spent this weekend doing little things.... cooking, sleeping, resting, sewing, cleaning, eating, reading, shopping, biking, tv watching, just a little of each. Can't figure out why I am still tired.......

Just a picture

This walkway is in Boeblingen. I've only seen it this way twice. I was so glad I had a camera last Thursday when I happened to drive by.

I will try not to bore you.......

I tried to get these in order but between blogger and I...... Most of the pictures you see of me were taken by you know who while he was riding...... I think he did a good job. Crazy man. A bit crowded on the train.

From our room in Bregenz.

Loved cleaning up at night.

Beautiful hotel in Meersburg.
Stein am Rhien is a must see.

Catherdral in Konstance. How cute it this??Leaving Konstance, last day.

You can't tell from this, but it is pouring and a bolt of lightening had just flashed across the sky. I don't like.

Things I learned on the way..... sun, wind and rain are not helpful; I can do more than I thought, but not as much as I hope to.

Things I already knew..... I love boats; I hate hills; I love hot running water and a clean bed; I really, really love traveling with my husband.

We ended up not riding much day one. I think riding to the train station and into Bregenz from the boat counts. I called it getting my feet wet, someone else had a different opinion. It was windy and rainy though so he didn't really mind. I am glad to say the weather for the rest of the trip was perfect.
Day two we made up for our lack of biking on our biking trip by making it to Meersburg. (Really liked the hotel there!) It seemed so far but I surprised myself by going even further day three. I must say that day hurt a bit. There were a lot of hills, I had to walk halfway up two of them. Day four we took it really easy with a short run and the train ride home. We calculated that we road somewhere between 120 and 150 miles. When we got home we checked some other people's stats that said it was around 104 miles. That's probably correct if you just ride straight through. We did take some side trips in and out of places. (Some were intentional.)

I'm glad we made day four short because we came back to, as my DB said, "Stuttgart welcoming us home with open arms." For those of you who may not know, this means lightening, thunder and huge drops of rain.... Let me tell you, that was a fun ride up the hill. I kept smiling though because it was a really great trip.

A finished project among the chaos

First of all, I know this picture is terrible. Sorry, it comes from the fact that I should be loading the cat and dog into the car right now, at this very moment. I made this last night while my DB was doing some training using both the computer and the phone..... I wanted to call my darling neglected daughter but she gets this to look at instead. This is the Sabrina Tunic from here. I made it first out of a fabric that was not as special ..... I really like the girly retro look it has. I still need to tweak it for me. This is not a beginners pattern. I am going to make it again. I just need to find the time. Oh and no need to mention how the shadows make my arms look huge... thx.
